OPzV Technology: Tubular GEL for Stationary Power
ENGINEERED FOR 20 YEARS
OPzV battery technology combines the two proven pillars of stationary energy storage: tubular positive plates and silica-gelled VRLA electrolyte. The tubular plate grid holds the positive active mass in woven gauntlets, strongly reducing plate growth and mass shedding, while the gelled electrolyte eliminates free acid and water top-ups for the entire service life.
The result is a 2V cell platform engineered for long uninterrupted standby duty: a floating design life of 20 years at 25 degrees C, more than 2000 cycles at 80% depth of discharge, wide temperature capability from -40 to +70 degrees C and excellent deep discharge recovery - even after long storage or partial-charge operation.
KEY SPECIFICATIONS
20-Year Design Life
Floating design life of 20 years at 25 degrees C and a self-discharge rate below 2% per month, with 2 years of storage life after a full charge at 20 degrees C.
Deep Cycle Endurance
More than 2000 cycles at 80% DOD and over 6000 cycles at 25% DOD, with excellent deep discharge recovery performance after heavy loads.
200-3000 Ah Capacity Range
C10 capacity range from 200 Ah to 3000 Ah in robust 2V cells, scalable to high-capacity strings for power plants and data centers.
-40 to +70 Degrees C Operation
Wide operating temperature window with optimized lead-calcium-tin tubular alloys that reduce hydrogen evolution and water loss.
BATTERY CONSTRUCTION

The tubular positive plate is the heart of the design: red lead produced in-house and an optimized lead-calcium-tin alloy reduce hydrogen evolution, while the highly porous gauntlet raises the share of positive active mass. Premium sliding poles with brush insert and rubber seal, a fully insulated copper intercell connector and a heavy-duty ABS container with optional V0 flame retardancy complete a construction certified to DIN, IEC and EN stationary battery standards.
KEY ADVANTAGES
Long Service Life
Tubular positive plates, a premium sliding pole design and special alloy compositions deliver superior cycle and service life in stationary applications.
Truly Maintenance Free
Gelled electrolyte means no water topping-up over the whole life, cutting maintenance visits and site access costs to zero.
Flexible Installation
Vertical and horizontal installation with racks designed for quick mounting, easy battery maintenance and optimal space utilization.
Certified Safety and Low TCO
Compliance with DIN 40742/40744, IEC 60896-21/22, EN 50272-2 and IEC 61427; in hybrid systems the batteries cut genset runtime, fuel use and CO2 emissions.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
A premium power backbone for critical stationary systems:

UPS / EPS
Uninterruptible and emergency backup power for data centers, hospitals and industrial facilities where downtime is not an option.

Solar & Renewable Energy
Off-grid and hybrid photovoltaic plants that need deep daily cycling plus years of partial-charge tolerance.

Telecom & Power Stations
Communications systems, transformers, electricity networks and power stations running long float duty with occasional deep discharge.
WHY OPzV BATTERY?
Why specify OPzV instead of a standard GEL battery? Both share the same gelled, maintenance-free electrolyte, but OPzV adds tubular positive plates - the construction proven for decades in stationary standby duty. The gauntlet-protected active mass resists shedding and plate growth, which is exactly the failure mode that limits flat-plate GEL and AGM batteries in long float service. The payoff is a floating design life of 20 years, deep discharge recovery and stable capacity under partial state-of-charge operation.
